The Eastern Dorrigo Plateau is nestled in the hinterland of Coffs Harbour on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, approximately an hour east of Dorrigo and about an hour inland from Coffs Harbour.
This mountain community is made up of a collection of small villages, Lowanna and Ulong, and rural farming communities, all set within a dramatic landscape of rolling hills and forested ridgelines.

Our Gorgeous Glossy Black Cockatoo
Dr Brian Hawkins delivered an engaging presentation at the Ulong Hall on Australia's endangered Glossy Black-Cockatoo, introducing the local community to the Glossy Squad Citizen Science Project. Attendees learned about the ecology and behaviour of these fascinating birds, as well as how to identify signs of their presence and contribute valuable observations on their own properties.
